I'm Derrick.
Wiest Digital is a one-person shop in Pittsburgh, run by me, Derrick Wiest. There's no team page because there's no team. When you email, I read it. When something breaks, I'm the one fixing it.
I've been building software since 2011, most of it for companies much bigger than the ones I work with now. That's where you learn what breaks and what isn't worth building. Small businesses rarely get someone with that background on their side.
I started this because small businesses kept ending up with a template site that doesn't fit, or a SaaS tool that's close but not quite, and nobody to call about either. I like fixing that.

Listen first
Before any code or designs, we talk about what you're trying to accomplish. Often the right answer is smaller than you'd expect.

No upsells
I'd rather quote you for what you need than sell you what you don't. If a Squarespace template would do the job, I'll say so.

Start small
Small launches beat big reveals. We get something live, you use it, we improve it from what you learn.

No lock-in
Most clients prefer that I handle the hosting and domain so they never have to think about it. But if you ever want to walk away, you can. Your content, your code, your domain. I'll hand them all over and help you move.
